My bedroom is roughly the size of a hotel room, so I stopped fighting that and started copying one instead. These six buys are the whole formula: a bed that reads as made even when it isn't, a wall that reads as built-in, and enough light to make the room feel bigger than it is.
1. Hotel-style white duvet set
This is the base of the whole look, everything else on this list works around it. It's crisp out of the wash and a bit heavier than a basic set, which is what keeps it from looking flat once it's on the bed. White shows stains fast, so wash it on the regular cycle weekly rather than waiting, that's what keeps it looking new instead of just clean.
2. Two extra sleeping pillows
The actual hotel trick: four pillows against the headboard reads as a room, two reads as just a bed you sleep in.
